Oklahoma has for a long time been synonymous with Bingo. This is owing to the fact that the Native tribes of Oklahoma have run Bingo games for years. Guests from many of the neighboring states pile in passenger cars and visit Oklahoma to bet on Bingo on the weekends.
The 1988 IGRA was introduced after a landmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court the year before. From that time, twenty three of the thirty nine Native bands of Oklahoma have introduced gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma Indian tribes to take advantage of the betting restrictions, and today control 10 casinos of their own. Bingo is the game on which these gambling halls were founded. Electronic games like slot machine games were not permitted, due to the fact that they’re believed to lead to gambling addiction at a higher rate than bingo.
In recent years, Oklahoma rules has altered to allow for enormous Native wagering gambling dens. You’ll now see Native gambling dens with one armed bandits, video poker and vingt-et-un tables. Craps and roulette are not yet legal in the Indian gambling halls as of yet, but this is simply a matter of time. No one can determine what having other gambling den games in the bingo parlors will do for the draw of bingo.
